At what stage of my pregnancy do you recommend booking my appointment for?
We recommend that you come visit us between 32-36 weeks. However, we have taken scans from 20 weeks all the way to 39, so whatever you feel comfortable with. If you are passed the 36 weeks just contact us directly and we will do our best to squeeze you in as soon as we can!
How do I book a consultation in the studio?
You can use the booking platform on our website or contact hello@velvetandthefox.com and we can try to arrange a time that suits best.
What can I expect during my appointment?
Our studio environment is designed to be warm, inviting, and relaxing. During your visit, we’ll explain the process, show you different sculpture options, and offer light refreshments. You’ll also have the option to change into a robe for comfort.
The consultation will take about an hour. During this time we work with you to create your preferred pose and we can experiment with other options. Once you are comfortable in each pose, the images are captured simultaneously in a matter of seconds by our 3D scanner.
In between poses, you are free to relax and have some refreshments, whilst we configure the scans. At the end, we will go over your options and you can choose your preferred pose for print.
Please note, the scanner involves flash photography. If this is not suitable for you, please contact us so that we can discuss alternative options.
Are there any specific clothing recommendations for the sculpture session?
We ask that you wear seamless thong underwear. That way we can get the clearest scan possible. We also ask that you tie your hair back and remove all jewellery. We will have a robe for you to change into between poses.
If you would prefer to wear clothes that’s totally okay too. Please reach out to us beforehand and we can discuss the options.
Can I bring my partner or family member with me to the consultation?
Yes, of course! We have space for your partner or family member to sit during the consultation.
Is the scanner harmful to my baby?
Absolutely not! The 3D scanner used is 100% safe and will not harm you or your baby.
How long does it take to create my sculpture?
The time required to create your sculpture varies based on the complexity and details of the piece. Generally, it takes between 6-8 weeks from the initial consultation to the final product delivery. We will provide you with a more accurate timeline during your consultation.
Can I choose the size and finish of my sculpture?
Yes, you can choose from different sizes and finishes. We offer sizes ranging from 12cm to 17cm. During your consultation, you’ll have the opportunity to see and feel different finishes to decide what best suits your preference.
What is the cost of a personalised sculpture?
Our pricing structure is as follows:
12cm: €275
15cm: €300
17cm: €325
How is my sculpture delivered?
You can choose to have your sculpture delivered through An Post or opt to collect it from our studio. We ensure that all sculptures are securely packaged to prevent any damage during transit.
Can I gift a sculpture to someone else?
Absolutely! Our personalised sculptures make unique and meaningful gifts for loved ones. You can purchase a gift voucher through our website, allowing the recipient to book their own consultation.
How do I care for my sculpture?
To keep your sculpture looking its best, avoid exposing it to direct sunlight for prolonged periods and handle it with care. Clean it gently with a soft, dry cloth if needed.
Can I pay with cash or card?
You must pay your €50 deposit through either our booking platform via card, or if you’ve booked directly with us we will send you a payment link. The outstanding balance is paid at your consultation and we accept both cash and card, although card is preferred.
What if I’m not satisfied with the final product?
Customer satisfaction is our top priority. If you’re not happy with your sculpture, please contact us, and we’ll work with you to address any concerns and make necessary adjustments.
Do you offer any other types of custom 3D-printed keepsakes?
Yes! We are continually expanding our product offerings. In addition to pregnancy and mama & baby sculptures, we also offer pet sculptures.
